Hidden between the high buildings of Prule, Prulček Bar is an all-favourite place among Ljubljana jazz, blues and rock jammers and all other music-genres lovers. It offers an amazing daily music programme and an unimaginably wide selection of draughts, wheat, dark beers, pale ales, lagers and ciders from all over the world. During the early summer evenings, it is especially pleasant to enjoy a pint of beer in their shady garden while listening to their concerts.
This legendary, graffiti-spattered tiny Sax Pub bar with a stage that is smaller than a general toilet, is located on Eipprova Street, near the Gradaščica River – just a 3-minute walk from Galeria River. It is generally a popular venue among locals in their 30s and 40s. Sports fans will enjoy this place as there are several big-screen TVs featuring all the main world sports competitions and matches.
Pritličje Bar is much more than just a simple café that serves coffee or tea during the day, it is also a gallery of comic books and a venue for lectures and public debates about present social and cultural phenomena. At night it comes alive as a club frequently hosting DJ nights and concerts of urban electronic music.
Just a 10-minute walk from the city centre and next to the alternative Metelkova Mesto, you will find Ljubljana’s major rock and metal club – Orto Bar. It offers a wide programme of live rock concerts and club nights featuring not only Slovenian artists, but also renowned rock bands from around the world.
